It is a ritual that man has observed since the dawn of time when he asks a trusted ally to shave his head. The friend immediately rises to the task at hand with an important yet minor request: “Can I shave it into a mohican first?” Naturally the answer is yes; it’s this alone that separates us from the damned dirty apes.

Ian’s hair had been gestating for over six months and now it was time for it to go. Like most low-budget hair-based indie films the world première would be streamed live through iChat to an audience of one half-dressed girl in Hollywood.

There are numerous videos available on the internet of people attempting to ingest a teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Worryingly the most popular of these Cinnamon Challenge videos feature attractive young women inevitably puking while their boyfriend looks on holding the camera giggling, and asking insincerely if she’s okay.

Like most hot girls who attempt it, at 2am on the 1st of November, Chris, Ian, Dave and myself spectacularly failed.

I’m not very good at reminiscing. I tend to forget a lot of things that happen. Looking back through all of the footage I shot during my trip to Vegas to with a group of friends way back in March was almost like having to sit through a slideshow of tedious photos from someone else’s holiday. Y’know, except fun.

I did think at one point that maybe I’d filmed too much stuff and not enough of us as a group but the few instances I did inadvertantly catch (footage of us gawping open-mouthed at the Grand Canyon, or a conversation about how small cars look from a distance) merely served to reinforce my original views.

At a comedy night on Feb 18th, 2009 my mother was kind enough to pass on to top comedian Josie Long the fact that it was my birthday. She kindly passed on birthday wishes and then the Knock2Bag crew were then kind enough to forward me the resulting footage. The moral of the story is that on your birthday, people are kind (well, kind enough).

This was meant to be a modern day retelling of the first bit of Genesis, with God as an unreasonable landlord, but I don’t think it really worked all that well. Shot for Sci-Fi-London‘s 48 Hour Film Challenge, it was a good first exercise in making a (very) short film, though.

Wildlife documentary-style video presented by Nathan at Kessingland Wildlife Park, where I was sacked in 2000 for refusing to wear the uniform. I think the background music in this video is perhaps too loud.

Song I wrote the lyrics to and performed by Nathan. When innocent featured it on their blog, the comments picked up on the fact that Nathan has SCARY FREAKING EYES. Good “acting” dude.
